Shooting mirrorless in cold weather

Writing an article about ice fishing. Along with some nice acticle photos from my friend Christer Rognerud, he dropped me this photo of me and my hard working Panasonic GH4 mirrorless camera in the cold.

This was the first time I went on a long and serious trip without any of my Canon gear. It felt awesome shooting with a superlight and capable photo and video camera even in extreme cold. Even with two lenses and a Rode VideoMic Pro microphone, it has the same volume and weight of my old Canon 70-200mm f2,8L lense. I had only two batteries and no charger with me, but as always - these batteries are just amazingly good and have never let me down.

Christer was shooting with his lovely full frame Sony A7 (someting..) and got some great shots. He had just one battery with him, and even if it lasted for the whole trip, it lived halv the time in his pocket. Next time, I will shoot with the GH5 or maybe the new G9. Christer has done some Sony upgrades as well and I can´t wait to get back to Lierne National Park fishing and shooting again.
