On Saturday February 16, my local Hunting and Fishing Assosiation had it´s 100 years anniversary at Strand Hotel Fevik. It´s one of Norway oldes club on fishing and hunting and was started by well known people in the city and areas around.
Also exciting was the election of the "Member of Honor". This went to the recent "Member of Honor" nationally in the NJFF. The man is Asbjørn Aass, who has worked for many year in this Assosiation saving stream, lakes and rivers in Arendal. He has spesially been honored because of his amazing work over many years with the sawning of seatrouts. His has worked close to the Fylkesmann and been the fishermens voice when something has been wrong.
For me this is really exiting and a little bit scary. I am his now his successor and I have big shoes to fill up! Luckily for me, my job is to create more knowlegde and get more people into the Assosiaton. With me I have my good friend; Kjetil Flakke who has the same interest for the rivers and the seatrout as Mr. Aass. I hope that Kjetil can bring the torch with him in the future.
If you are living in Arendal, and you are a passive member or not a member at all - I want you to think about the future for our young generation and for the fishes in the water and join us!
